Welcome to the Knauss Center for Business Education, the future home of the USD School of Business.
An Innovation Ecosystem
TRANSFORMING BUSINESS EDUCATION
Here at USD, we’re Changemakers, we’re innovators, we’re confronting humanity’s urgent challenges. And, at the USD School of Business, we’re transforming the vision of what’s on the horizon for business education.
Business Stewardship of the world
Stewardship requires businesses to protect and care for society in pursuit of a greater good. USD School of Business graduates are encouraged to embrace stewardship by applying values-driven, free-enterprise skills to improve businesses, industries, and the lives of people in their communities.
Our Collective Future
Knauss Center for Business Education
A critical component of enabling this transformation is the Knauss Center for Business Education, named for the chair of USD’s Board of Trustees, Don Knauss, the former CEO of Clorox, and his wife, Ellie.
The Watershed Moment
Investing in Business Stewardship
“We express our most sincere gratitude to Don and Ellie Knauss for their investment of $20 million to launch the final planning and construction of a new USD School of Business complex. The generosity of the Knauss family has enabled USD to transform the School of Business footprint and unify all of the school’s academic programs, centers and institutes.”
— James T. Harris III, DEd
President, University of San Diego
Equitable Wealth Creation
Advancing Business Education
“Our investment in the USD Business School, and this new state-of-the-art facility, is to ensure that wealth is created on a fair and equitable playing field. Everyone, regardless of background, must have a fair shot at maximizing their God-given talents. With this approach, we can ensure that Changemaking truly leads to sustainable progress.”
— Don and Ellie Knauss
In Pursuit of Greater Good
Stewardship
IN Action
Carl Dumesle, a current MBA student, exemplifies stewardship in action in his latest entrepreneurial endeavor to bridge the knowledge gap between the Haitian community and the rest of the world. As a native of Haiti, Dumesle has witnessed firsthand the country’s limited access to information and was compelled to offer free business lessons in Haitian Creole to empower his community.
“With 60 percent of Haiti’s population living under the poverty line, only a few of us get the opportunity to pursue an MBA, but the next revolutionary idea might come from the mind of someone who cannot afford it.”
— Carl Dumesle, MBA Student
Personalized Purpose of Studies
A Holistic Experience
“We seek to build a relationship with our students that lasts a lifetime. Integrating purpose into each student’s studies is just the beginning. The rich, holistic student experience is guaranteed each year through the USD School of Business’ more than 100 events outside the classroom to build the critically important network of relationship highways to guide them along their career path.”
— Timothy P. Keane, PhD, Dean
