our faith
The Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego (CCFSD) exists to encourage and facilitate stewardship and Catholic charitable giving in our Catholic communities in San Diego and Imperial Valley. The Foundation provides an easy way for Christian stewards to gratefully give back to God by supporting Catholic organizations that formed and guided them in their faith development throughout their lives.
Our
Gratitude
Independent from the Diocese of San Diego, funds are created by individual donors and organizations to support our 98 parishes, 50 Catholic schools, vocations and the numerous social service organizations that provide much-needed services to our Community. These funds can be short-term and liquid in nature or they can be permanent, long-term endowment funds that can benefit not only this generation of Catholics but also future generation of Catholics. Funds are invested in a manner consistent with the socially-responsible investment principles instituted by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
our Community
Our future
Our Catholic community is blessed to be comprised of more than 41% baptized Catholics and our Catholic population is growing. CCFSD provides a great opportunity for Catholics to create and support funds that are spiritual, meaningful and purposeful to them. CCFSD also provides an easy way to create a Catholic Legacy by leaving a bequest as part of an Estate Plan to benefit our Catholic community for many, many generations to come.
A Message From Our Ceo
Thank you for joining us today to joyfully celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Catholic Community
Foundation of San Diego. We exist to support Christian stewardship in San Diego and Imperial Valley.
Through the generosity of many Catholics in our community, the Foundation current has more than $80
million under management and we are excited to have made an impact in our community by
distributing more than $14 million in grants supporting Catholic and non-Catholic causes.
With gratitude to our many donors, the Foundation has already created more than 80 permanent
endowment funds to support Catholic organizations in our community. I hope that you will prayerfully
consider creating a new endowment fund or supporting an existing fund to support current and future
generations of Catholics in our community. Endowment funds offer great support to Catholic
organizations especially during difficult economic times or during the suffering produced by a pandemic
as we all recently experienced.
We are happy to share our achievements as well as our vision of the opportunity available to all good
stewards of their Catholic faith to become involved in their Catholic Foundation. Talk to us about
creating your Catholic legacy. Please give us a call.

"I am proud of the work that is done by our
Catholic Foundation, and excited to serve alongside you
as together we continue building the Kingdom
of God in the Diocese of San Diego."

Our Catholic Community
After meeting with the Executive Director of the Foundation over a period of months, we felt very comfortable and confident in becoming a founding member. We were happy to learn that Foundation assets are invested consistent with Catholic values. We have found our partnership to be very rewarding.” Rev. John H. Howard, CJM

Seminars For the Foundation
Offered in English and Spanish.
With just a little planning, you can have peace of mind knowing you have taken care of your family and secured their future. One of the most effective ways to care for your family is with a current estate plan. If you own property, have dependents, or have recently experienced life changes (marriages, divorces, births, deaths, etc.), you will want to visit an estate planning attorney to create or update your will and trust document.
Over the past five years, the Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego has hosted over 60 seminars on the topic of Estate and Legacy Planning. Through these seminars, we have been able to reach community members throughout the region and assist them in planning their estates through the lens of Catholic giving. Here are a few details about those seminars:

"FIAT exists to provide a quality Catholic Education through a collaborative team of eleven Catholic Parishes and six K-8 elementary schools. Generous donors throughout the South Bay seeded each of the six schools with a $5,000 gift to establish a new endowment fund for the six schools...These new endowments will be help our schools for many generations in the future." -Steve Stutz, FIAT Catholic Schools Administrator

“We feel privileged to be among the earliest donors to the Catholic Community Foundation and to be a part of the ‘Founders’ Circle’. We chose to establish a Donor Advised Fund so we could continue to support the organizations we are involved with while also supporting the Catholic Community Foundation’s mission to encourage Catholic Philanthropy in the community of San Diego... We’re looking forward to growing our relationship with the Catholic Community Foundation as we work together to fulfill our family’s philanthropic goals while seeking to live out our faith in the community we love.” -Dan and Susan Carter
