Hear from USD's Provost and Vice President, Dr. Gail F. Baker, as she shares about the remarkable Torero community, our various academic and communal accomplishments and the beauty of the campus our Toreros call "home."
Day One, Session Two
USD in the San Diego Community
Join Mr. John Loggins, Director of Community Engaged Learning and Ms. Maria Silva, Director of Neighborhood & Community Engaged Partnerships as they share about USD's commitment to being an "anchor institution" and engaging with the world around through its proximity to the US-Mexico border.

Contemporary Catholic University
Watch this insightful session with Dr. Michael Lovette-Colyer, Assistant Vice President for University Ministry, and two current USD students as they discuss USD's contemporary Catholic identity and how Toreros find their place at USD through a commitment to Mother Rosalie Hill's vision of "beauty, goodness and truth."
She didn’t know what she was looking for, but Julia knew she’d find support at USD. Then during Orientation Weekend Mass, she found inspiration. She discovered the Rite of Christian Initiation, starting a journey towards the best in herself by serving others and God.

Dr. Kira Espiritu, Director of USD's International Study Abroad programs, and current USD students explore the numerous international opportunities available to Toreros while reflecting on their own experiences abroad. Focusing on USD's identity as a Changemaker Campus, Dr. Mike Williams, Director of the Changemaker Hub, and three current USD students share about how USD creates a Torero community rooted in local and global service, innovative solutions and empathetic leadership.

A Conversation with the deans
Our second day of the Virtual Open House started with the deans of all three of USD's undergraduate colleges/schools - the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, and the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering - sharing USD's pursuit of academic excellence, efforts toward faculty diversity and the interdisciplinary focus of the academic programs you will experience as a Torero.

Career Development Center Showcase
Hear from Ms. Robin Darmon, Senior Director of the Career Development Center, and Mr. Charles Bass, Director of Alumni Relations, as they discuss the career preparation services provided to our Toreros during their time at USD and beyond as alumni. Belonging at USD is more than just belonging while on campus; it's belonging for life.

USD Commons and Campus Resources
This engaging session centers on the resources USD provides to Toreros through the USD Commons. Mr. Ryan Jumamil, Director of Student Support Services, and Dr. Ashley Barton, Director of the Black Student Resource Commons, explore how students from all backgrounds, identities and journeys are welcomed into and supported by the Torero community.

Staying ConnecteD As Parents & Families
Ms. Renda Quinn, Director of Parent and Family Relations, examines how she and the USD community help parents and families stay connected to USD and their Torero while providing a healthy and safe USD experience for their Torero.

Questions about admission & financial aid? This the perfect session for you. Hear from two representatives from USD's Office of Undergraduate Admission as they break down the journey toward becoming a USD Torero with application tips, financial aid, scholarship opportunities and an in-depth look at Torero Life.
